A strong Lyon draw gets underway this week with six players in the Top 20 led by Top 10s Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman.

David Goffin, Gael Monfils, Jannik Sinner, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Karen Khachanov round out the Top 8 seeds at the event which was once indoors but returned in 2017 on the clay.

Thiem won the 2018 edition beating Gilles Simon. He’ll open against either Corentin Moutet or Cameron Norrie. He could face Sinner in the quarters and Schwartzman in the semifinals.

Sinner opens against Aslan Karatsev in the best first round match.

Tsitsipas could face 2017 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or American Tommy Paul, then Monfils with either Auger-Aliassime or Goffin in the semifinals. Auger Aliassime faces fellow youngster Lorenzo Musetti in the first round in another good one.

American sensation Sebastian Korda is also in the draw. He’ll face Pierre Hugues Herbert with the FAA/Musetti winner in the second round.

In the 2019 final, Benoit Paire beat Felix Auger Aliassime for the title. This year, Paire opted to play in Geneva.
