After a miserable few years, Caroline Garcia is back playing Top 5 tennis again. The former world No. 4 won her ninth career title on Sunday cruising past Ana Bogdan in 81 minutes 6-4, 6-1 to win the Warsaw title.

“It was a tough match, every final is always tricky,” Garcia said. “You know you’re at the last step and you want to make it happen, to hold the trophy in your hand.

“But that’s what both players want. Maybe today is an experience I had from the past finals, helped me to manage my emotions a little bit better and be able to play my game, to be very aggressive and to know what I had to do.”

Garcia, who upset home favorite and world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals, has caught fire the last two months winning 18 of her last 21 matches with two titles and a Wimbledon fourth round.

The Frenchwoman is enjoying her best run since the fall of 2017 when since won 13 straight. She has now won eight of her last nine finals.

Bogdan was appearing in her second career WTA final. She remains in search of her first career title.
