Swiatek Back In Action In Warsaw; Krejcikova, Kontaveit In Prague
After seeing her 37-match win streak come to end to Alize Cornet at Wimbledon, Iga Swiatek is back on court on her favorite clay surface and in her home event in Poland.
The world No. 1 is the only Top 40 player in the field, with the next highest player in Sara Sorribes Tormo.
Swiatek opens against countrywoman Magdalena Frech and could meet Wimbledon fourth rounder Caroline Garcia in the quarters and Sorribes Tormo in the semifinals.
Warsaw is the final clay event on the 2022 tour calendar.
In Prague, Czech Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova is joined by top seed Anett Kontaveit on the hard courts.
Cornet, Wimbledon quarterfinalist Marie Bouzkova, Elise Mertens and Hamburg semifinalist Anastasia Potapova are also in action.
