Carlos Alcaraz Wowed ‘Em With This Incredible Tweener Winner vs Paul [Video]
Carlos Alcaraz didn’t win the match but the Spanish sensation connected on the shot of the night with this incredible tweener winner against Tommy Paul.
The point came with Alcaraz down a set and serving 2-3, 40-0 in the second.
Paul lost the game, then got broken and lost the second set but recovered in the third to beat Alcaraz in the Canadian Open Masters quarterfinals 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Paul was 21 of 23 at the net with one of this losses the Alcaraz tweener.
“The momentum could have easily switched there,” Paul said of the shot. “I think he broke me at love and then went up 30-love on his serve. So six points in a row after the tweener. And I was thinking about it, trust me. I was like, man, like I could lose, like, 10 points in a row right now and it could be the match.”
Alcaraz added it was a big moment in the match. “I probably increased my level a little bit,” he said. “I’m going to say it’s a key moment of the match. I pushed myself up a little bit. I’m going to say after that moment it was unbelievable.”
