Rafael Nadal Out Of The US Open
Will Rafael Nadal ever play the US Open again? It’s looking highly unlikely. The tournament just announced the 38-year-old will skip the final Grand Slam of the 2024 calendar further signaling that his playing days are nearly over.
Nadal one match at the French, then skipped the grass, made a final in Sweden before falling to Novak Djokovic last week in Paris.
He hasn’t set a retirement date yet and never committed to the U.S. hard court summer, but his next scheduled event is the Laver Cup which may or may not be the end.
Nadal is a 2-time US Open winner completing his Golden Career Slam at the 2010 event. He has only played in New York once now in five years, that coming in a fourth round loss in 2022 to Frances Tiafoe.
