Haas Hammers Not Hot Roddick; FSN Tries to Cover Tennis

TENNIS-X NEWS, NOTES, QUOTES AND BARBS World No. 1 Roger Federer has been pumped about the Beijing Olympics, but now the Swiss is backing off on his commitment to play based on painful memories of past Olympics where he actually had to sit next to people in transportation and talk to other athletes: “It was […]

Is anyone still paying attention that there’s a tournament going on in California this week? Some interesting stuff actually transpired in the past few seemingly lackluster days including a thinned out draw; Lindsay Davenport’s official, albeit weird, retirement announcement; and the announcement of an Andre Agassi-Marcelo Rios exo in a few weeks, where Agassi made […]

Happy Moanday X-fans. Time to talk Federer’s defeat, TTC’s coverage, the team approach to tennis, Serena’s new reality adventure, and the USTA’s newest accessory item. Federer’s Loss: With the combined trifecta ejection of Federer, plus Marat Safin and Lleyton Hewitt yesterday, the Men’s draw got a little bit less interesting for some, but a whole […]

It is March and even though here in the U.S. the month is reserved for all purposes for College Basketball’s March Madness 64-draw hoop tournament, I prefer the 96-draws of Indian Wells and Miami that showcase the best in tennis.

Blake Recovers From Slow Start
Blake Recovers From Slow Start American James Blake began with a sluggish start Saturday morning on Center Court, but quickly turned around his form to secure a second-round victory at the Pacific Life Open. Following a one-hour delay due to the previous night’s storm and spotty rain throughout the morning, the No. 12 seed surrendered […]
