Who will win the biggest prize on the pro tennis clay calendar? We’ll find out on the second weekend in June when the very best in the world battle for the French Open title.

Who Are The Men’s Betting Favorites?

Usually its Rafael Nadal and everyone else. But not this year. Not with Nadal still trying to find some kind of form and for the first time ever the Spaniard comes into Roland Garros not among the real favorites to leave with the title. For the 14-time champion this could be his final French Open.

Novak Djokovic is the defending champion however he hasn’t won a title this year and is just 4-2 on the clay after the Rome Masters. But the Serb entered Geneva with hopes of better form.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are both banged up. Sinner has a groin which may keep the Australian Open champion out. Alcaraz has been dealing with a forearm issue.

The next tier sees Alexander Zverev along with former finalists Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas. But this year, it’s really anyone’s title.

Who Are The Women’s Betting Favorites?

While the men’s field is wide open, not so on the women’s side. Two-time defending champion Iga Swiatek will go in as a solid favorite. The world No. 1 has won the French three of the last four years and once again enjoyed another excellent lead-up.

Then it’s perhaps the big hitters in Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina, followed by Coco Gauff and Danielle Collins. Rybakina, though, also has been battling injuries.

The tournament begins on Sunday, May 26.

How Do You Read French Open Odds?

Understanding sports odds in general can be a dauting challenge for many fans. For tennis odds, when there is a plus sign (+), that indicates how much money you would win putting $100 down.

When there is a minus sign (-), that means you have to put that much down to win $100.

So at the French Open, if Carlos Alcaraz is +150, that means if you bet $100, if he won again you would get back $250 ($100 for your bet plus the $150 in winnings). If Iga Swiatek was -250 to win the French Open, and you put $250 down, if Swiatek won the title you would get back $350 ($250 in your initial bet plus $100 for the win).

When reading fractional odds -- let's say Novak Djokovic is 5/2 -- the first number (in this case 5) is the profit and the second number (in this case 2) is what you need to put down to get that. So if you put $2 down on Djokovic, you would get back $7 in total if he won ($2 is your bet plus the $5 for winning).

Now if Aryna Sabalenka was 2/7, if you put $7 down and she won you would get back $9 ($7 your initial bet plus $2 for the win).
