After their triumphant wins, Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitova got together during the Wimbledon Champions Ball Sunday night for a traditional picture photoshoot.

The first-time Wimbledon winners seem to be having fun the with trophies.

Also during the evening, a nervous Kvitova was invited up on stage during the Wimbledon Champions Ball Sunday night for a Q&A with Vijay Amritraj.

Kvitova beat Maria Sharapova on Saturday 63, 64 to take the women’s Wimbledon title.

“It’s hard to find words,” she said on Saturday. “I still don’t know how I feel. It’s still an unbelievable feeling. Maybe I’ll accept it after… I don’t know… some days. I was so happy at the moment when I won. It’s strange.”

Kvitova becomes the first lefty to win Wimbledon since her idol Martina Navratilova did it in 1990. The 21-year-old is ranked No. 7 this week on the WTA computer and certainly has a very bright future ahead.

They both look great!

Here is a post-match BBC interview with Nole, Becker, Rusedski and another commentator; it’s a good interview, on the roof at SW19:

Colin Says:

Jane, I’m quite glad you dismiss John Inverdale as “another commentator.” I’ve always found him obnoxious – facetious and often downright ignorant, as when, at a golf event, he used the word “enervated”, clearly thinking it meant “energised”.

jane Says:

Colin, I didn’t dismiss him deliberately; I just didn’t know who he was (though he is a bit annoying). The interview overall was a fairly good summation of Nole’s experiences lately.
