Serena Williams: Nail Technician

It seems that with each Slam title Serena Williams learns a new vocation. Just a few weeks removed from her Australian Open triumph, Serena has enrolled to become a nail technician according her blog post on GlobalGrind. ADHEREL

“Immediately after I came home from the Australian Open I researched some schools and enrolled in a course that allowed me to complete 240 hours (that’s what u have to do to get certified at least in fla) at my own pace. 240 hours may seem like a lot, but I intend on completing it within the year. It normally takes 6 weeks!!!” she wrote earlier in the week.

Upon successful completion I have to ask if she would be open to manicuring the nails of her fellow competitors like Maria Sharapova, Justine Henin or Jelena Jankovic? Mirka Federer? But who’s to say anyone would actually want to get their nails done by her! Ladies?

I doubt Serena would be manicuring anyone’s nails personally. It seems as though she has a bigger and more lucrative thought process in mind, and that is, most probably, to open a chain of manicure/nail shops around the country = hauling in mega bucks. However, in order to do that, Serena/the owner, has to be a certified nails technician, which translates to her mindset on becoming a certified nails technician. She’s a very smart cookie that one, and knows how to make the bucks. I hope her dreams come to fruition. There’s a ton of money to me made in anything that’s female related. I wouldn’t be surprised if she later opens a spa, with a boutique featuring her line of clothing, for the rich and famous. Go Serena!
