Rafael Nadal Receives Sportsmanship, No. 1 ATP Awards on Court [Video]
Following Roger Federer’s brisk win over Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal came out on center court to formally accept the ATP No. 1 and the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship awards.
Watch the video of Federer walking off the court and into the tunnel where he congratulated the awaiting Nadal. Cool moment! Rafa deserves it.
“It is a big satisfaction to receive the Sportsmanship Award, voted for by my fellow players; it’s very important for me,” said Nadal.
“It’s an honour for me to receive the year-end No. 1 trophy. It’s been a fantastic season for me, the best of my career. After a tough second half of 2009 I came back this year and it was a very emotional year for me.”
Nadal won 7 titles in 2010 including the last 3 Grand Slams. On Monday, after going 0-3 in 2009, Nadal picked up his first win beating Andy Roddick in three sets.
Nadal plays Novak Djokovic tomorrow. What a match!
