Ahead of his Davis Cup Group I match, Roger Federer was all smiles in the streets of Bern, Switzerland Wednesday promoting the upcoming tie with Portugal by meeting his fans, signing autographs and posed for photos.

Federer even thrilled the thousands of fans by hitting a “tweener” during a special street exo with teammate Marco Chiudinelli at Parliament Square.

Federer and his Swiss team will host Portugal this weekend at the Postfinance Arena in Bern. The former No. 1 will play Rui Machado tomorrow in the second rubber. Federer last played Davis Cup in a 3-2 win over Italy in 2009.

Stanislas Wawrinka opens the tie against Frederico Gil.

Thousands, and over 25 million worldwide, Feds fans range from 8-80. He covers it all. GOAT of fan base, not just ladies after a hot bod, nor the village people type guys, he truly is the Tennis King of the ages….and it is nice to see his on court magic is what attracts his fan base, not his sexiness. Although there is plenty of that for sure I would assume.

Skeeze, left you a note on the bracket site on your page!

Kimberly, off thread topic, but I look forward to seeing Maria in black again; I will never forget how stunning she looked in the black dress with the little jacket the year she won her US Open title. Amazzzzing.

DC weekend is busy: most of the top guys are playing. No Rafa and no Soda, though.

Michael Says:

All the best to Federer in the Davis Cup. This is a trophy missing in his Cabinet. Hope he adds to his list this time around.

scineram Says:

He will never win Davis Cup. Give up hope.

madmax Says:

well, it would help if he had more than 3 in the swiss davis cup and they didn’t all depend on him and stan!

Be fair!

dari Says:

Love the sweats and nikes on fed
but there’s kids around, so…

Wheeler Says:

Davis Cup is a joke anyway. Tennis is and will always remain an individual sport. Davis Cup is team and nation spirit for namesake.

madmax Says:

yay! The swiss team won! Was it any surprise?

At least now they have a chance to get back into the world group in September!

Go Federer! Go Stan!
