Stan Wawrinka’s Shorts Make An Appearance At His French Open Press Conference
by Tom Gainey | June 7th, 2015, 3:15 pm

Yes, Stan Wawrinka’s much-discussed shorts made an appearance during his winners press conference a short while ago at the French Open.

After stunning Novak Djokovic 46, 64, 63, 64 to win his first French Open and second Slam, look what Stan did:

We can only hope the shorts were a new or at least clean pair of shorts, and not the ones he wore on court or wore into the interview room! Congrats to Stan and his fans on a remarkable two weeks.

Emily Says:

I love that there is now a twitter account for these lucky pink shorts. Embrace the moment and all the jokes, Stan

Humble Rafa Says:

It’s good to see a Swiss have some sense of humor for a change.

M Says:

What’s unnerving me is that just like we went through an era circa 2008 of dudes wearing The Sleeveless with … let’s just say a little less aplomb than Rafa, all I can say is how grateful I am that we won’t be seeing any version of those shorts at the upcoming Slam unless some evil designer has some “bright” idea of white-on-white shadow plaid.

M Says:

Minipeople is hilarious, though, celebrating their champion.

Congratulations, Stan. A well-earned championship.

(Despite those shorts!)

RZ Says:

@M – I always find the Minipeople comic strips to be a lot of fun, and also quite sweet (their tribute to Timea Bascinzky after her semi loss was heartwarming). I like how they often make fun of the various Swiss icons while also praising them.

Emily Says:

Minipeople is always very funny, had some great comics during the Davis Cup final. I also love that the shorts are now sold out

danica Says:

Hahaha Jane, that image is GREAT! Love it! :))
