In a rematch of the 2014 final, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer meet for the 2015 Wimbledon title. Federer leads this series 20-19 but Djokovic has won the last two, both in finals. At Wimbledon they are 1-1, the same as they are in Grand Slam finals.

Djokovic has won 8 Slams titles winning the Australian Open this year. Federer has won 17 Slams but none since his 2012 triumph over Andy Murray.

The last player to successfully defend Wimbledon was Federer in 2007.

NO. 1 NOVAK DJOKOVIC (SRB) v NO. 2 ROGER FEDERER (SUI)
Head-to-head: Federer leads 20-19

* Top seed and defending Wimbledon champion DJOKOVIC is bidding to win his 3rd Wimbledon title and equal his coach Boris Becker, who won the title here in 1985-86 and 1989. Just 5 men in the Open Era have won 3 or more Wimbledon titles.

* Djokovic is bidding to win his 9th Grand Slam title and take sole ownership of 8th place on the all-time list for most major titles. He has won titles at the Australian Open in 2008 (d. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga), 2011 (d. Andy Murray), 2012 (d. Nadal), 2013 (d. Murray) and 2015 (d. Murray); at Wimbledon in 2011 (d. Nadal) and 2014 (d. Federer); and at the 2011 US Open (d. Nadal).

* If Djokovic wins his 9th Grand Slam title at 2015 Wimbledon he will be the oldest player to win 9 titles at the Grand Slams in the Open Era.

* Djokovic has an 8-8 win-loss record in his 16 previous Grand Slam finals and a 2-1 win-loss record in Wimbledon finals. His only loss in a Wimbledon final came against Andy Murray.

*Djokovic is looking to become just the 7th man to win 200 Grand Slam matches in history. He overtook Rafael Nadal at this year’s Wimbledon and goes into this year’s final with a 199-34 win-loss record. The leading all-time performers are as follows.

* 7-time Wimbledon champion FEDERER is bidding to become the first man to win 8 Wimbledon singles titles. Martina Navratilova (9) and Helen Wills Moody (8) are the only women to have won 8 or more singles titles here.

* Federer is also bidding to become the second man in history to win 8 titles at any Grand Slam event. Rafael Nadal became the first man to achieve this feat by winning his 8th Roland Garros title in 2013.

* Federer, who is 33 years 338 days old, is bidding to become the oldest Wimbledon champion in the Open
Era. The oldest man to win Wimbledon in the Open Era is Arthur Ashe who was 31 years 360 days old when he won the title here in 1975. The oldest woman to win Wimbledon is Navratilova, who was 33 years 263 days when she won the 1990 title.

* Federer is also looking to become the 3rd oldest man to win a Grand Slam title in the Open Era after Ken Rosewall, who won titles at the 1972 Australian Open (37 years 62 days), 1971 Australian Open (36 years 73 days) and 1970 US Open (35 years 315 days), and Andres Gimeno, who won 1972 Roland Garros (34 years 306 days).

gannu Says:

i am so nervous already…how am i going to bear ththe torture?? hope some miracle happens and feddy bear gets his 18th…

sienna Says:

Gannu relax. They will be lots of downtalking and predicting Fed can bring Murray game to Novak.

but Im pretty sure Federer will be ready. reaching finals hè knows that he isnt going to play bad. Novak will come out to prove a point so expect all cilinders firing when they come out. then Novak will use beckerish stuff to unsettle TMF. resignation, anger, possible resignation followed by final TMF deadblow.

Federer is ready to battle as long as it takes. Im not sure Novak is.

sienna Says:

the problem for Novak is that Nadal and Murray play to the strengths of him so he can without big adjustments take that in and give himself a good shot at winning.

against Fed he cant do that He has upperhand when Federer isnot at peak condition. But Federer in peak form at height of his game always feels he can beat Djoker. And that is what wel have here. But Novak first needs to show he is up for the match.

jatin Says:

Same here gaanu. I am dying to see fed lifting the trophy today. Comon champ. Please deliver the same performance today. You can do it

Giles Says:

@gannu and @jatin. I think the stars are aligned for fed to clinch his 18th today.

mat4 Says:

Back to watch some tennis again.

I had a quick look at the news, and it’s all Federer, even when you search for “Novak Djokovic”… Anyway, he played very well from what I read, and if the roof is on, he will almost certainly win, since you simply can’t touch his serve when the grass is slippery.

I hope that Novak will fight well, and won’t lose in three, although all the stars seems aligned against him once again. If he manages to make a fight out of this match, to put a lot of serves back, if… but it’s a long shot, it seems.

Hippy Chick Says:

Mat4 hi,nice to see you here,im looking forward to the final even though ive no horse in the race, enloy the final anyway….

Margot Says:

Hi Mat4!
Rain not due till later.
The big if is, can Fed serve like he did against Andy. Read somewhere FSP 87% :0

FedExpress Says:

Come on fed

Margot Says:

The BBC on celebrity watch AGAIN! Yuk!
Tim said rain in 90 minutes.

Margot Says:

Yay! We have Roddick commentating! Who incidentally picks nole.

Vinod Says:

Come on Roger:)

ctwhatexit Says:

Go for it, Rog

Daniel Says:

Great start by Fed!

Hippy Chick Says:

If they close the roof advantage Federer IMO….

FedExpress Says:

FS % not that good. But serving quite well

mat4 Says:

Hi HC and Margot!

FedExpress Says:

Feds forehand already better than last year

calmdownplease Says:

Andy was saying he hopes Fed `never serves like that to him again` but he felt comfortable in the few rallies he managed to get into after that serve
It looked that way too.
And Today its already noticeable that Fed isn’t serving that way Today.
It’s also quite windy but I don’t think either of them like that particularly.

Daniel Says:

0-40, triple BP. Djoko would have to serve big now.

Jeez Says:

0-40

3 BREAK POINTS!!!

mat4 Says:

The chips are down. This match is as good as over.

Daniel Says:

And he got it with a flick return forcing Djoko to come in, first break Fed, 4-2 and serve. Let’s see if he will serve big again.

calmdownplease Says:

he breaks!
Not too much was required for it too

Daniel Says:

15-30, Djoko moving Fed around. Serve Fed!

Daniel Says:

BH shank and double BP for Djoko. Fed went for the lines and missed 2 serves wide.

Jeez Says:

15-40

2 BREAK POINTS

Jeez Says:

BROKEN BACK !!!

Nikola Says:

@mat4

Relax Novak is going to win.

calmdownplease Says:

benny cumberbatch liked that one!

what was that you were saying Mat?

Daniel Says:

Dmm, Fed serve 3 times wide on the adv side and missed all 3 serves, don’t know why he shouldn’t change to T serve. Djoko break right back

mat4 Says:

@Nikola:

Took 5 medications already… Don’t worry…

FedExpress Says:

Shittt

calmdownplease Says:

Novak looks pretty comfortable in the rallies i must say, more in control

Daniel Says:

Djoko is in another league, amazing how he can up his level

calmdownplease Says:

only 2 aces so far from Fed
It was about 12 by this time against Muzz

FedExpress Says:

That first volley after the breal was the catalyst to get broken

5-4 break him.now to serve first in the second

jatin Says:

Only if fed can win this set somehow :(

FedExpress Says:

Wtf nole having 4 aces

jatin Says:

Fed has to serve consistent. A tie breaker would not be bad either.

FedExpress Says:

Nole flirting with the lines

calmdownplease Says:

quite a bit of shanking going on

calmdownplease Says:

Novak is just too solid from the baseline
It would be best to try and prise him off it at some point

Jeez Says:

Interesting to note Fed has won 32-24 points!!!

calmdownplease Says:

and he does
he drew him in and got the pass

calmdownplease Says:

poor old John Hurt looking very frail

Jeez Says:

DOUBLE FAULT
30-30

Jeez Says:

SET POINT!!

Jeez Says:

2nd SET POIT!!!

Okiegal Says:

Will we see 4 tiebreakers and a marathon 5th?? Wouldn’t that be fun!!

Novak better watch it here…

mat4 Says:

I just can’t watch tennis any more. I’ll come back in five years, when they all stop playing and I won’t be interest in new players.

Daniel Says:

Djoko’s wide serve on the adv side is working fine today, saved 2 set points with it.

calmdownplease Says:

Novak is serving clutch
better than Fed

Okiegal Says:

TB# uno!!

Jeez Says:

TIE BREAK!!

Daniel Says:

Damm, Djoko will win tiebreak in this point.

Indeed, Fed’s serve not working as semis.

Daniel Says:

Djoko can hold Fed’s attack and keep the ball deep, he is not leaving balls short, his level is up since he got broken, maybe he is finding that gear we haven’t saw before.

Daniel Says:

Wow, Djoko is a wall today. He can win this in three if he keeps this up.

That would be an statement!!

mat4 Says:

6-1…

Novak has a reasonable chance to win the set…

Jeez Says:

DOUBLE FAULT !!

To give SET1

Nikola Says:

This is gone be in straights for Nole.

brando Says:

Cannot see Federer winning 3/4 tbh.

Daniel Says:

When Fed shouted “C’mon” when he had the first set point he unleashed Djoko’s inner monster. Djoko didn’t miss anything ever since.

He is much stronger mentally today and Fed started missing serves and shots not hurting. He will have to serve better and be more aggressive, going for the lines, or wait Djoko’s level decrease, which I think it won’t happen.

Djoko peaked just at the right time and when matters, he can play his best match today and win it. But Fed is still on it, he had Set points first. His mistake was not hold after the break.

Margot Says:

Fabulous, steadfast play from Nole and he takes the first set.
But, as we all thought might happen, I don’t know FSP but Fed is not serving as well as against Andy.

Jeez Says:

STATS

1st serve 65%-59%
1stwon 73%-80%
2nd won 50%-50%

Jeez Says:

Clearly Federer needs to serve at least 65%+ , if he has any CHANCE !!

mat4 Says:

The match is far from over. It is just 1-0, there is a lot of play left. Federer is still the favourite to win it all.

calmdownplease Says:

Excellent from Novak
I knew this would happen
It’s too much to expect him to beat both Andy and Novak
Meanwhile, the player that could have actually taken it to Novak is at home watching it on the TV
Dammit Fed and your out from nowhere GOAT serve!
For verily without it this pre-ordained outcome would have been avoided!

brando Says:

Has Novak got the opponent he wished for? I think pre tournament he would have wanted Federer over Murray since he has a clear physical edge. No matter Novak can make him play a extra shot, grind him down. Now he has a set up advantage: this will be too tough for Federer mentally knowing he’s got a long slog to go through.

Daniel Says:

Djoko is reminding us all why he is #1 player and dominating last events since Beijing last year. No forehand Unforced Erros today.

Margot Says:

@CDP
Sickening isn’t it? Suddenly shanks and double faults :(

calmdownplease Says:

If it rains however…….

mat4 Says:

@brando:

Yes, I believe that Novak prefers to play Fed on grass. Against Murray, he just doesn’t get enough free points on serve, and in rallies, Murray’s versatility is dangerous for Novak. The results are a proof for this…

brando Says:

Pat Cash:”Most people said if Roger played like he did against Murray he would win. At the moment Murray must be scratching his head wondering where the mistakes were against him. It is hard to play like that all the time but he can quickly click into form.” Federer served 85% first serve v Andy in set 1, ONLY 59% v novak. Tells you all.

calmdownplease Says:

@Margot

I think it’s a waste myself
but he won and that’s that
(and Novak will win this most probably)

Daniel Says:

Fed is going for too much, a bit impatient because he knows Djoko is always returning an extra ball with interest. Djoko not giving any ball to Fed.

Fed hold, 2-2. He has to do his part and wait to see if Djoko will have another bad game with a few seconds or a dip.

Daniel Says:

Djoko’s BH angles open the court is sublime as well, he is open the court and not missing a t all. Not even needing to go to BH DTL.

brando Says:

@Mat4: hi. I agree. I was of the opinion ONLY Murray could beat novak pre event. Then Fed did what he did on Friday, made me think he has a real chance. But it’s clear that was a one off possibly. With Andy: novak has consistent pressure on his serve, guaranteed lengthy rallies and not certain rally wins. With him he wants to avoid them. With Roger he wants them since he knows:90% he will win. Federer is a better matchup for him in a slam than Murray IMO.

Margot Says:

@Brando
Fed 11 UES against Andy WHOLE match. 11 in first ser today :(

calmdownplease Says:

I am simply not convinced by Fed’s ground game
we’re going through the motions here
till the inevitable

FedExpress Says:

That service game where fed had been broken was key

Daniel Says:

Guys, you may sound like it is all on Fed’ side, Djoko is clearly a better player than Murray, his balls are harder, second serves are better, he puts way more pressure on opponent than Murray does. Fed was comfort against Murray, not the case with Djoko.

And even f Fed’s serve is not insane like Semis it is still good, he was just tested in 1 game. He broke Djokoa nd had chances in an other game, having set points first, and now is BP again, third game with chances.

Jeez Says:

BREAK POINT!!!

FedExpress Says:

Shit
nole lucking his way thorugh

Daniel Says:

What a FH by Djoko to save BP, and he is 100% first serves in BP today.

brando Says:

@Margot: I share your annoyance. Why oh why did Fed had to that v andy? Save it for someone else. Knew it was a one off and not something a 34 yo can repeat again.Andy v novak would have.Been more competitive IMO since today Fed is showing his age.

Jeez Says:

2nd BP!!

Nikola Says:

Now Novak is gone break for 4-2 and the second set is over.

calmdownplease Says:

Fed is in tennis terms what is known as a `c*ckblocker` ;-)
Andy needs to start beating fedole in masters first
However!
I think he could have made a spectacular return to from had he made the final
BP gets close and Novak snatches it away
tsk
Do I sound bitter or what? lol
#justretireffs!

Margot Says:

Disagree Daniel Fed’s serve was key in his victory against Andy, not the same today.
Do agree that Nole is quite magical at raising his game at key moments tho.
Interesting how much higher over the net Nole’s ball is, Fed’s seems to just skim it.
Fantastic shots from Nole on break points.

Jeez Says:

48% 1st serves for Djokovic this SET against 100% for Federer!!!!

FedExpress Says:

so many chances

calmdownplease Says:

`Shit
nole lucking his way thorugh`

yeah, RIGHT
#facepalm

Margot Says:

Lol Brando, you are turning into a wise old man!
Annoyed moi? You bet!

FedExpress Says:

hope it is a repeat of 2012 WIM final

Daniel Says:

Agree Margot his serve was key, but Djoko is a better return of Fed’s serve than Murray, the balls he puts in play today makes Fed way more uncomfortable than the ones Murray returned in semis.

Djoko is playing an amazing match and being mentally strong the moment he was down, he did’t serve a second serve in all 4 BP’s Fed have.

Fed was only challenge 1 game so far, Djoko in 3 and Fed played an awful tiebreak for his standards.

Jeez Says:

Fed 1st serve is 88% now!!

Margot Says:

@Daniel
I agree everything you say about Nole but…

calmdownplease Says:

`Djoko is clearly a better player than Murray, his balls are harder, second serves are better, he puts way more pressure on opponent than Murray does. Fed was comfort against Murray, not the case with Djoko…`

Blah Blah Blah
And in your opinion
Rather have a creative abstracting player like Andy over amachine like one in Novak (sorry Novak fans)
Andy could have won this, he was starting to peak
It certainly wouldnt have been this routine

Jeez Says:

Novak’s 1st serve 58% now

Margot Says:

Rain predicted in 10-15 minutes?

jalep Says:

… rushed home for this. was checking scores from the start.

So, Nole has stepped on the gas, I see and wow. Federer is making errors feeling the pressure.

Not sure Federer has studied any meridian tapping techniques. Guessing he best push some sort of mental restart button after that 1st set. He won’t beat Nole off the ground – he’s misfiring. Federer needs to find the kind of serving day he had vs Murray or this will be over quickly.

It’s mental: battle of wills at the moment. Nole under some pressure on serve. But Federer blinks and Nole holds.

Federer serves an ace under pressure and avoids a deuce game.

Now a sort of easy hold for Nole.

This will be a key hold for Federer, I think.

FedExpress Says:

federer needs inspiration

calmdownplease Says:

`Rain predicted in 10-15 minutes?`

The fed fans better pray for it

FedExpress Says:

this 2nd set is so crucial

i wont bear another TB

brando Says:

Watch how a C level Djokovic with 58% FS wins this set. Federer is a ideal opponent for him in a slam since Novak’s strength is the physicality, endurance of his tennis. He’s the best baseline grinder. And it’s easier to grind a 34 year old than many.

Daniel Says:

cdp, you are gonna get attached to the “thought” that Murray would win today because that would be easier to digest, get over it, he is not in the final.

Also I think this Djoko would beat anybody. It os still 4-4 and Fed served 10 times, only faced BP once, so is not as if he doesn’t serve.

Ground game Djoko is better than everybody, including Murray, and it is so from a while now.

FedExpress Says:

one thing i know is that fed will fight till the end

brando Says:

Novak will use scoreboard pressure and break at 5-4 just like fed did v Andy. IF so=match over. Maybe even a breadstick in set 3 with that realization.

Jeez Says:

Fed 1st serve 90% atm & 61% for Nole

calmdownplease Says:

Andy could have won this and I’m only just realizing it
So I’ll get over it a bit later thank you very much!

Daniel Says:

Brando, do you actually think this is a “C” level Djokovic?!
He is hardly making any unforced errors from BH and FH, and serving some un returnable serves. I think you guys are watching a different match. It’s his best match consider who he is playing against.

FedExpress Says:

15-30

just shiitt

Jeez Says:

15-30 !!

calmdownplease Says:

its rather gloomy out there
rain must be coming now
;-)

FedExpress Says:

this

jalep Says:

Federer serving…

He’s under pressure from the #1 player.

FedExpress Says:

Set point nole with a DF

Daniel Says:

Double Fault to give Novak a set point. He needs to serve big now.

Jeez Says:

DOUBLE FAULT & SET POINT!!

FedExpress Says:

saved

calmdownplease Says:

`It’s his best match consider who he is playing against.`

Oh I know!
he’s playing someone who is PAST IT

Jeez Says:

1st 2nd serve won by Fed this SET!!

Daniel Says:

Yes, Fed shouting. Stay alive in the set.

FedExpress Says:

come on

Daniel Says:

Wow, what a BH cross court, 30-30

Daniel Says:

Another BP after two winners. This is it, saved BP last game and now have chances.

brando Says:

@Daniel: to me its clear that novak is VERY comfortable facing Federer just like Roger was v Andy. He’s not intimidated and he knows he has a clear advantage exactly where he wants it: baseline. I think Andy would have been a bigger test since he can hang with novak on baseline. It’s easy to see why: he’s not hitting 34 next month! Federer was astonishing v Andy but really we all should have been smart enough to realize it was a one off. To demand a repeat performance from a 34 year old is unrealistic. And that is what he needed.

Jeez Says:

DEUCE!!

Daniel Says:

Fed had chances in this point, should have went for angle.

calmdownplease Says:

`Federer was astonishing v Andy but really we all should have been smart enough to realize it was a one of..`

Er hello?!

Even if he snatches this set i just don’t see him winning this
The energy is barely there.

Daniel Says:

Yes Brando, but Djoko is not on “C” level today at all, he is playing better than all other matches he played.

FedExpress Says:

fed is cursed

jalep Says:

Lucky for Federer that hold at 5-5.

Federer has to hold his serve because it appears that he’s (probably)not going to break Nole but this is a mental game…. Federer missed a crucial bp chance. Will he get another?

Nole painting some lines.

FedExpress Says:

fed netting too many balls

nole will win theset. has fate on his side

Daniel Says:

Finally and UE from Djoko.

calmdownplease Says:

No Novak is playing flawless tennis
he’s comfortably in the zone
You’re both correct (after a fashion)

FedExpress Says:

6-5 nole after another escape

not the better player overall but playing big in the big points

dubai 2015 reverse

calmdownplease Says:

Kate Winslet looks so much better without the puppy fat
Quite beautiful actually (and a good actress)

brando Says:

@Daniel: he is playing better.

Daniel Says:

Djoko is keeping Fed in the back of the court because he is not going to the net, almost not net game today.

Fed to serve to force another breaker, hope we get one, more drama. Love the crowd reactions

Jeez Says:

1st serve 62% for Novak & 83% for Fed

calmdownplease Says:

Sir shankalot strikes again!

brando Says:

Agree

Daniel Says:

KAte is gorgeous, love her with red hair in titanic.

Djoko gifting Fed a second serve return mistake.

mat4 Says:

Novak is giving very cheap points on Fed’s second serve.

calmdownplease Says:

Novak moves so much better than Roger

Daniel Says:

Djoko needs some lob lessons from Murray, not getting the depth needed.

Yes, tiebreak!

jalep Says:

Federer could not break and take the opportunities he had. Nole holds – basically won another mental battle – also won off the ground.

Nole going to break for the set? or…

Federer holds. Going to another TB.

mat4 Says:

And I can’t watch a second TB.

Daniel Says:

minibreak, serve Fed.

Daniel Says:

Fed get a defense in and make a stupid drop shot to give back the point, dumb.

Daniel Says:

No first serve in tiebreak, he is getting tired. Djoko will win in 3 unless he finds some gear in next points.

Daniel Says:

Fed some magic defense to steal a point. Back on serve, now let’s see if he find some first serves this tiebreak

Daniel Says:

Djoko’s return is killing Fed.

Jeez Says:

And fed serve down to 76%

Daniel Says:

To many netted balls. 5-2 Djoko.

Hippy Chick Says:

The match has come to life a bit now,the atmosphere all seemed rather flat, even the commies were quite subdued…

Daniel Says:

This is it, Djoko painting the lines and playing another great tiebreak, 3 set points virtually MP’s

Jeez Says:

6-3

2 SET POINTS!!!

Jeez Says:

MAN OH MAN!!!

Daniel Says:

What a point and Djoko almost finish with a DTL winner. 6-5 serve Djoko.

Daniel Says:

Wow, what a shot to save set point, 6-6. Crowd going crazy, amazing match. Love this two playing.

Daniel Says:

What was this second serve and volley, what courage! Wow!!

Daniel Says:

Set point Fed, now Djoko feeling the pressure as he was not down this set no moment. Fed can still this tiebreak and the match will be on fire.

Jeez Says:

SET POINT!!!

jalep Says:

Federer saves setpoints. clutch.

I dunno.

Daniel Says:

Fed should have come in to volley, he was dominating the point. Set point Djoko.

Jeez Says:

9-9!!!

Daniel Says:

What a tiebreak!

Hippy Chick Says:

Disagree Daniel till 5 all in the second set,the match seemed quite flat, but i agree its getting more interesting now, hope Federer takes the second, then we have a really meaty contest….

Daniel Says:

WTF return to Fed’s toe nail. Damm, set pojnt and serve Djoko

Daniel Says:

Djoko missing a lot of set points, it can play in his head if he loses this set.

Jeez Says:

11-10

SET POINT!!!

Daniel Says:

Paytback Fed, with a great return, serving for the set, just 1 ace needed.

Hippy Chick Says:

Set point Fed YAY,we have a contest now….

jalep Says:

Guessing the match lost here in this tie break for Federer if he doesn’t win this set. Can’t see Federer coming back to win being down 2 sets.

omg Federer wins the tb

Daniel Says:

Yeah, now we got a match! Still think Djoko will win but this is awesome.

Hope they play 2 more tiebreaks.

Jeez Says:

1 SET ALL

OH… C

NEED SOME REST!

mat4 Says:

Novak, Novak…

Margot Says:

Absolutely thrilling tie break and Fed, playing much better, takes it.

Jeez Says:

Both had won 51 points each in SET 2!!!

Nikola Says:

Amazing tennis

FedExpress Says:

i got pregnant

Daniel Says:

Federer is Federer, for hm to go down in a Wimbledon final it always goes the distance, that is how good he is.

Let’s see if it will affect Djoko, serving serving first.

Also think Fed should come to the net whenever possible.

Daniel Says:

Damm, this game Djoko decided to return, 2 first serves from Fed back in with interest, 15-40

Jeez Says:

2 BREAK POINT on Fed serve

Daniel Says:

2 BP’s saved.

FedExpress Says:

its not how us start its how u finish

mat4 Says:

I guess that Novak will lose 3-1 just like he has started to do in the last finals he played. Unbelievable how the breaks down when it’s crucial.

Jeez Says:

WOW what a

SHOT DTL!!!

Jeez Says:

BREAK POINT !!

For Federer

Daniel Says:

Djoko’s FH to Fed’s FH open the court is hurting him badly today.

FedExpress Says:

boah

so many brea k point chances

1-1

FedExpress Says:

fed looking tired?

not serving that well

FedExpress Says:

federer needs rest. when is the rain coming?

FedExpress Says:

deuce after being 40-15 in front

FedExpress Says:

Bp for nole

Jeez Says:

BREAK POINT

FOR NOVAK !!

FedExpress Says:

fed self destructed

wtf was that

Jeez Says:

BROKEN

2-1 Djokovic

Josh Says:

Fed better hope it starts raining

Nikola Says:

Novak looks more tired then Fed. Amazing tennis in 33 years of age.

Goose Egg Says:

Question: do “net points won” include unforced errors caused by a net approach, or is it only points won when you actually make contact with the ball at the net?

Tennis Fan Says:

Feds first serve is spotty today. It was pretty clear on Djoks last service game that if Fed hasd come in on several different chances he would have broken to take a 2-0 lead , instead he is playing into Djoks baseline game.

Fed isnt coming in today and I dont understand it. It is there for the taking and he isnt taking it. Circumstances may firce him to change his tactic. What he is doing now is flawed. I just hope he changes before its too late.

Jeez Says:

RAIN INCOMING!!

Jeez Says:

Now who BENEFITS the MOST from this

RAIN DELAY. ??

Federer !!

mat4 Says:

And the rain now… The sky is against Novak, not only the stars…

jatin Says:

My heart is in my mouth whole match.
Perfect time for rain to come. Hope fed can regroup. He needs it badly

brando Says:

Play will resume shortly. Players not in locker room.

Hippy Chick Says:

Well Novak doesnt seem to be suffering from a FO hangover thats for sure, very exciting and entertaining match now, shame about the rain, will the roof affect things now?….

brando Says:

Spot on strategy for Federer: “Roger needs this break I think because he is a break down. He will have the chance to talk to the coach now. I think his coach will say chip and come in more, and slice more.

“If you slice with no pace to Novak, he does not like it and it is a very effective tool to break down his game.”

jatin Says:

Hope fed starts coming forward more often now. First needs to break Novak

Margot Says:

Brando that’s what Tim was saying Fed should do. Presumably he is wary of Nole’s passing shots?

Daniel Says:

Think this will go similar to last year, Fed prolonging a match he had no business winning, Djoko is just in the peak of his prowess.

The bad thing is I have a exam in 2 hours and will have to leave in probably around 1 hour and 15 min and possibly won’t know the outcome of the match until later.

Hippy Chick Says:

Jatin i think the break will give Federer a chance to regroup….

brando Says:

@Margot: he must be. But if he was comfortable doing so v Andy- someone along with rafa seen as best passer in the game- then why not today? Not thinking clearly perhaps? I don’t know but I agree with you: he should and needs to do it. It’s a form of applying pressure on Novak and that is what he needs tod do. Get novak more pressurized, thinking things over and see what happens. Since Novak would love Federer to be camped at baseline. Its happy days for him if that’s the case.

Hippy Chick Says:

Daniel whats the exam, and good luck with it anyway….

jatin Says:

Hippy
I can just hope.

brando Says:

@Daniel: good luck with your exam. But exam on a Sunday: wtf, rubbish scheduling I gotta say. Unheard of that for me.

Hippy Chick Says:

Thierry Henry mmm love that guy, thanks again for the picture if your watching Squirrel he he ;)….

brando Says:

Wtf: more rainscheduled in 20 minutes. Get the roof on!

Humble Rafa Says:

The Arrogant One needs this break to regroup. Regrouping will help him realize that he can’t win, so he can save his six children (three twins, is that correct?) pain of watching him play?

Margot Says:

Like that Brando!

Daniel Says:

Djoko hold 4-2

FedExpress Says:

i just cant get over that service from fed where he got broken

first he led 40-15 and then got broken by missing a penalty

Daniel Says:

Thanks Brando,

Here in Brazil with have those for careers in Government Jobs, it is always on Sundays, I got lucky at least it is in the afternoon;-)

Hippy Chick Says:

Daniel are you Brazilian?….

FedExpress Says:

shank. this is just insane

FedExpress Says:

plz choke nole. one more time

mat4 Says:

@Daniel:

I root for Brazil in football. I still regret that WC in 1982, with the best brazilian team ever: Falcao, Zico, Tonino Serezo, Socrates… How unlucky they were… twice!

jalep Says:

Federer is more calm with his aggressive game v Andy. His backhand shots were vintage 2006 in the semifinal. Nervous Federer lacks confidence and the focus to make those shots – Nole makes him hit more errors – he can’t execute his shot choices. Rafa does the same thing to Federer.

Daniel Says:

Djoko to serve for a 2 sets to 1 lead, let’s see if he feels any pressure.

NK Says:

Humble Rafa: Referring to Federer as the Arrogant One is really getting tired. I think you should retire it as it says more about you than Federer. At this stage in his career, he deserves respect whether you like him or not. He could well lose but your constant mocking tone is truly petty. Give it some rest, will you?

Jeez Says:

3 SET POINTS

for 2-1 lead

Daniel Says:

Think this will go in 4 now.

madmax Says:

Why is anyone even mentioning murray in this thread…?.federer beat murray…yes that’s right…stop talking about murray, and God this age thing. A 33 year old federer going o. 34 beat a fit murray!..get over it.

And thats to Andrew castle. The worst commentator for the BBC ever.
not only that, federer, courageous
More than I can ever express. That second set tie breaker, the guts jest moves I ever saw.

Can tell roddick getting wel, irritated with castle.

FedExpress Says:

that break was the self destruction button
had all the momentum from the TB

squirrel_0209 Says:

You’re welcome Hippi Chick! How are you feeling today? I’m at the airport, checking the score here on tennis x every second! Hope Fed wins..you think it’s too far-fetched? Is he looking good TH?? Hehe

FedExpress Says:

that break miss was huge

Jeez Says:

Djokovic won 29 points against 26 for Federer in

SET3

Margot Says:

3rd set Nole. Near perfect.
Nole is like the ice wall in GOT. Damn near impentetrable.
Thought Fed looked tired in that set.

madmax Says:

Guts jest move I ever saw.

Now time for federer to try and take this on. 2 sets to one down, let’s fight now.

Nothing to lose roger. Unbelievable tennis, unbelievable player. The best guts jest player I have ever seen

Daniel Says:

Yes HC, live in Rio de Janeiro, can’t complain;-)

mat4, we were unlucky there but we got some good results apart from that 7-1 Germany match last year, that would linger forever.

madmax Says:

Margot fed is a fighter. A professional. Doesn’t look tired to me.

madmax Says:

Gutsiest .beautiful shot by novak. Cheeky

jalep Says:

Enjoyed that point at net!

Hippy Chick Says:

Squirrel im good,no horse in the race, just enjoying some high quality tennis, pulling for Federer even as a Rafa fan he he….

Jeez Says:

121-120 points

squirrel_0209 Says:

Thanks HC, you’re sweet..although i think it’s over now..preparing mentally now so that i won’t be too sad :(

Hippy Chick Says:

Daniel Brazil is the team i root for in the WC after England, and damn shame about that result last year….

FedExpress Says:

die nole die

brando Says:

And I have to leave. Probably be Novak in this set but IF fed wins it and it goes to 5, whoever serves first in 5th will be a colossal favourite regardless of 4th set momentum. Serving 2nd is massive scoreboard pressure.

Hippy Chick Says:

Squirrel keep the faith my dear, nice monikor BTW,are you male or female?….

brando Says:

“die nole die”: wtf, all over a measly Tennis match!

FedExpress Says:

that break in the 3rd changed everything

Hippy Chick Says:

Rather uncalled for Fedexpress, moderators are letting you get away with murder lately on this forum….

squirrel_0209 Says:

27 year-old male :)

You’ve already described yourself, otherwise i would have asked, thanks! Hehe

ertorque Says:

If after the 3rd stroke after Roger’s serve the point hadn’t been won, then Roger loses 60 percent of the ensuing rally. Similar pattern is observed if it is after the 3rd stroke after Novak’s service. Groundies rules in this match!

madmax Says:

Andrew castle can’t help himself.

Jeez Says:

Would we have 5th SET like 2015???

Hmmmm!!!!

Margot Says:

@madmax
That loss of serve indicates to me Fed is tired. he’s started shanking too, another indication.
perhaps he’ll break now, however.

Daniel Says:

Djoko return on the baseline shows started and he breaks, that is it!
9th major coming and very deserving so. He is in for another great year in 2015.

madmax Says:

Keep going Andrew, let bring in murray again. Boring.

ertorque Says:

The single backhand of his is just not good enough to rattle Novak’s game.

madmax Says:

Novak is just too good right now.

madmax Says:

Great shot roger

madmax Says:

Fed fans live in hope for Rogers next slam, but if it happen grea if not, the last two wkmbledon finals have been awesome to watch.

madmax Says:

Andrew castle again. What a Muppet.

Hippy Chick Says:

I must say the Fed fans are a pretty cool bunch Jatin,Squiirel,Rishi,Madmax etc,but one or two seem to be hero worshippers only fixated on Federers records rather than the man or his tennis….

S Green Says:

Aside from the brief meltdown in the 2nd set, the match has so far been played in Djokovic’s terms. He is not gonna lose this battle all day.

Jeez Says:

VIRTUAL MATCH POINT!!!

madmax Says:

Andrew. Castle. Love the jokes. Keep the coming, the other andy.

Giles Says:

Not long before the Serb starts eating grass . Pffffft

madmax Says:

Too many errors roger.

Jeez Says:

2nd BREAK POINT

TO SERVE FOR THE MATCH!!

madmax Says:

Go away castle!,,,

Markus Says:

Great first two aets. Djokovic is in his prime and playing in peak form, really tough to beat in this instance. But Roger showed he is still brilliant this late in his career.

madmax Says:

Come on Roger.

Please andy roddick take over!

Jeez Says:

HOLD

4-3 Djokovic

mat4 Says:

Novak is not in his peak form.

Roger has started tiring.

Still a lot to play. The match is not over. Just remember last year.

mat4 Says:

Don’t choke, Novak. Just don’t choke.

Hippy Chick Says:

Mat4 jeez the mans on the cusp of winning GS no 9,multiple GS in a year for the second time,i wish my favorite was playing this well this year….

Jeez Says:

It’s gonna be OVER !!

Daniel Says:

Djoko in the return zone, putting all on the line, amazing, 2 MP

jalep Says:

Nole is showing why he’s the best. Just wish he could have played like this vs Stan at FO. I didn’t feel any urgency for Nole to win another Wimbledon title. The one I thought was on track and needed it was Andy Murray.

Forgot to extend condolences to Murray fans for the semi-final. Had picked him and thought he’d win. He does need to start getting wins over Fed/Nole.

It’s a disappointment for the Federer fans who hoped for another GS win. As a Federer fan myself, the only way I have been able to enjoy his tennis and tennis in general, is not having any expectations. Love watching Nole and Federer.

Congrats Nole!!

Tennis Fan Says:

too bad the real roger federer didnt show up today … if he had shown up like his last match djokovic had no chance. I think almost everyone wanted to see Fed show up today

Jeez Says:

MATCH WAS OVER WHEN FEDERER COULDN’T BREAK IN THE 3rd FOR 2-0 LEAD!!!

Daniel Says:

What a game!!
Congrats Novak, amazing, 3 Wimbledon titles, 9th Slam and finally having another multiple Slam year, now entering in the greatness contention as he sure can win many more the level he is playing.

And he can win many points in Canada/Cincy, extend the record of Masters won in a season and the clear favorite for US Open.

Daniel Says:

Proud of Fed!, Able to have one final masterful performance and even push Djoko a little stealing a tiebreak.

Will be hard for him to beat DJoko in Slams in the future but on the fast courts he may have a chance in best of 3.

Margot Says:

Well played Nole! Congrats to him and his fans, jane, wog Boy, mat and all. Ab fab in clutch moments. Raised his game when it mattered.
So glad he silenced that idiot in the crowd with magnificent play.
Commies to fed and his fans. Great play in the 2nd set tie but, apart from that, as soon as we saw his FSP it was a bit of a foregone conclusion.

sienna Says:

as expected djokovic to good after stealing first set.

Federer wil have better shot at us open with Marin Cilic out of slamshape.

Congrats haters.

Margot Says:

Good luck Daniel :)

Patson Says:

Awesome awesome awesome ! Commies to Fed fans; your man did all he could but Novak was just too good today.

Congrats to ALL fellow Nole fans.

#NoleFam all the way.

Party time.

Tennis Fan Says:

Never seen a #1 ranked player with such a poor net game. Almost atrocious today. Too bad Fed’s first serve wasnt there today

jane Says:

thank you margot, jalep, daniel

commiserations fed fans.

BUT OH MY GOD NOVAK HAS 9 SLAMS! :))))))

Hippy Chick Says:

Well done Novak on GS number 9,and a 3rd Wimbledon title, congrats to fans Mat4,Wogboy,Courbon,Harry,Jane etc richly deserved,as i said no FO hangover, sorry for Federer fans Madmax,Skeezer and especially Jatin,Rishi,Squrrel and the Federer die hards well fought but not his day….

S Green Says:

Novak had a great game plan and he executed in style. Not a bad final.

Patson Says:

Congrats jane, WogBoy, courbon, jalep (and many other Nole fans I don’t know).

Great great great day today.

Nole is the most legit world no.1 ever whose consistency and excellence is to be admired. You look at the tennis field today and his opposition is so tough, and YET he continues to reach another level raising the bar to another level.

Just brilliant !

Markus Says:

Federer played as well as he can. Djokovic was focused and relentless and, I’ll say it again, played in peak form. Slam 9! Wouldn’t it be great if Novak joins Federer and Nadal with the most slam titles? All 3 guys playing within the same time period.

jalep Says:

Hi jane. Yes he does. However I’d trade this one for that FO title in a heartbeat.

Happy he got this one – it does make the FO loss a little better.

I felt good that he was going to win the final all night at work.

Back to bed for me.

Congrats all Nole fans!

Comisserations again to Federer fans.

Jeff Says:

Gutted, 1st serve went missing and too many UE, suppose that happens when you hit 34yo and u play a machine like djokovic

jatin Says:

Absolutely devastated.. Couldn’t bear fed losing.
Congratulations Novak. You played like a champion. Novak fans enjoy the win guys.. Its your day.
Fed you played as well as you could. Proud of you. Will continue to support you as long as you play.
Will see you guys someday. You are all amazing. Never thought I would meet such tennis enthusiasts like you guys.

Josh Says:

I’m happy i won’t have to hear about how Federer will turn back the hand of time. This proves finally to me that if Novak is in the draw, Federer will not win.

Hippy Chick Says:

9 GS and counting, and surely the USO favorite now….

Patson Says:

The good thing about Nole’s 9 slams is that he has had the toughest opponents on the other side of the net; they aren’t mental midgets who’d melt under pressure. The quality of the field he has excelled against is remarkable.

Go Nole ! Yeah ! Win the US Open now ! Own the field ! Own it like it has never been !

Jeez Says:

NOW THEY CLOSE THE ROOF!!!

He he!!!

squirrel_0209 Says:

Thanks HC, you’re sweet.

Congrats Nole, I really am hapoy for him. 9 slams? He definitely deserves it! Yeah me too, i want him to join Rafa and Federer as the greats with the most slams! That would awesome, it will show how brilliant Federer, Rafa and Djoko are!

Commies to all my fellow Fed fans..try not to be too sad, our man did us proud, there’s always next year!

Jock-KatH Says:

So pleased Novak won – congrats to his fans. Nole is the MAN.
Some over-the-top Fed. adulation fans on this thread.

madmax Says:

Proud proud proud roger. Thank you for some great tennis today.

Well done to the excellent world number 1, 9 slam holder. Brilliant and deserved nole. You showed your class today.

Roger you will always be H
the man, the greatest champion ever.

We love you!

Bob Lewis Says:

Nole is going to be the top player for a long time. Another Wimbledon title is sweet. Federer tried his best, no shame in this result for him.

Margot Says:

Lol Josh, sticking your head above the parapet like that on THIS site?
Quite shocking….;)

Daniel Says:

Thanks Margot!

Now some math and economics to clear my mind and came back here at night for some more interactiin with you guys.

tennisfansince76 Says:

Congratulations to Novak and his fans. The better player took the trophy as it should be. The only bad thing I can say about Novak is he sucked the drama out of the third and fourth sets.
The dinner plate trophy always looks so sad.

squirrel_0209 Says:

Good luck Daniel!

Wog Boy Says:

John Newcombe on No1e:
“No1e is the brick wall that can move”

Thanks everybody for congrats, to my No1e fan he is the GREATEST for me (us), one and only NOLE!!

Question for certain Roger fans:
How many shades of A game Roger has?

jane Says:

very nice speech roger …awesome!! :)

Hippy Chick Says:

Jock KatH some over the top Fed adulation aint that the truth,he looses and puff gone, the silence is deafening….

Jeez Says:

Does somebody have

DE JA VU!!

2011 FO semi vs Djokovic went on to LOSE in Final in 4 SETS to Nadal

Here beat Murray & went onto LOSE in 4 SETS again!!!

jalep Says:

So happy for Nole!

Roger Federer all class in the trophy ceremony.
Giving all credit to Nole for being the best for years now. He really does appear cool with this loss…says he’ll keep trying. Good on Federer.

Complete class from Nole too, as always.

Federer might bring out that laser-like double handed backhand he’s been working on?

FedExpress Says:

better player won today. fed couldnt play the big points big enough. but u can only expect that he gives himself chances to grab one more GS. came mighty close. who knows? maybe USO.

congraz to all nole fans

jane Says:

yeah jalep, i thought they were both great in their speeches. good on them indeed. :)

Hippy Chick Says:

Jalep hi i know you were dissapointed when he lost at the FO,but this is a great way to bounce back, congrats to you ;)….

Wog Boy Says:

For Nole fans and others, picture of me and No1e outside Sydney International Airport with the flag we both adore:

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img661/6923/Lw4inm.jpg

Jeez Says:

Only WAWRINKA can now BEAT Djokovic in MAJORS!!!

Hippy Chick Says:

Wogboy lol nice, glad i now know what you look like….

Patson Says:

Rise Nadal rise ! Nole needs a worthy challenger !
Do you have it in you ?

The only person other than Nole who *I think* can challenge Nole is *if* (and there a lot of ifs here) Nadal puts in the hard work and comes back with fury. I see Nadal in that pit Batman was in The Dark Knight Rises.

jalep Says:

Lovely atmosphere there jane, *big hugs*

Thanks Hippy Chick. But the FO will continue to sting. Maybe I’m too stuck on the idea of Novak Djokovic getting the FO title. I was the same way with Federer about FO. Didn’t care about Federer getting more GS titles after that. Feels the same to me about Nole and the FO. I admit feeling some urgency about it, like time is running out. Perhaps some therapy is in order? lol…

Jeez Says:

With this Djokovic has DEFENDED 2 MAJORS

AUSTRALIAN OPEN

&

WIMBLEDON

Wog Boy Says:

HC, you should see me 30 years ago;)
I just though that Serbian flag is appropriate for this moment, I know for the fact that No1e always carry one in his bag…and heart.

Bob Lewis Says:

Who thinks Nole will one day challenge for the all-time grand slam record??

jalep Says:

What a sweet moment shown between Nole and Jelena!

Wog Boy, Nice to see the man behind the poster, thanks. You look great!

Wog Boy Says:

Thanks jalep:)

I just want to say Thank You Boris Becker for improving Nole’s game, you deserve this title as much as No1e. I think Boris is traying to keep his H2H with Edberg intact as the coach too:)

Jock-KatH Says:

AHha! Somebody else exploring the “river runs deep” – see U Wog Boy.

Nithish Says:

Congrats Novak for his 3rd Wimbledon & 9th overall grand slam

MIa0007 Says:

Were it not for my belief in NOvaks integrity I would cease being a tennis fan. I am so tired of the ridiculous hype being thrown at us by the media.
After watching the other players , their serves, etc. how can commentators deluge us with the “serve of Federer.? How can they not praise Djokovich? I have been afan of Federer when he truly was great. His time is over, and the tennis Moguls need to stop truing to make $$$$$$$ off his name by continuing this propagand of his abilities today. It was clear that the younger man cold far ouplay the older one. Its really insulting.

madmax Says:

Josh, don’t be daft. Novak was the man, today, awesome play, call me sentimental but roger still has his chances against any player, including nole.

He pasted murray on Friday, really showed him who was boss. Murray couldn’t cope with Federers shot making, he was sublime and made murray look second class.

Today, roger was not consistent enough. He could have taken more advantage of those break points but he wasn’t allowed to , by a better player.

Make no mistake, roger is playing as well as has ever played.

But novak is just better. Today, novak was greater.

Eric Says:

Sigh… depressing. Congratulations to Djokovic fans though. Indomitable.

madmax Says:

Chill out Mia.

Novak was revered, honoured and praised by the commies to the hilt.

We just get sentimental over roger because he is so well loved here in England, for so many reasons.

Novak is too. He is right there in the hearts of many, but is building on that history.

He could end up getting more slams than anyone, that’s the irony.

He is a fabulous player to watch, graceful, passionate, talented

But please watch your bitterness towards roger, because despite you saying he is so over, he sooooo isn’t.

Respect to the fed for beating everyone but novak in this tournament, a testament to him, that despite being the oldest player in the final, could still play fantastic, skillful, courageous tennis.

Am very very proud to be a part of the federer fan club.

jane Says:

nice pic wog boy.
hugs back jalep
great match commentary as always from daniel; hope your exam went well.
jeez, thx for posting stats

mat4 Says:

I am so happy Novak won his 9th slam, although the lose in Paris still hurts. But, on the other side, he didn’t steal his victories: he played great players in great form in all his 17th finals.

His main asset is, at the same time, his worse problem: his versatility. He’s good on every surface, but others are better on special ones: Rafa was better on clay, Roger and Andy on grass and Roger on very fast courts, and now Stan, with his power, can hurt him on slow courts. So, he was destined to make a lot of finals, but to lose often in those most important matches.

He is now the fifth player of the Open Era. A lot of stats rank him among the best three, even the best two, where he trails only behind Roger. I hope that he will be luck and win a few slams more to confirm his status of one of the greatest player of this sport.

And a last thing: I also hope that he will win at least one slam with the public firmly on his side.

mat4 Says:

So many typos…

Temple Says:

Novak’s victory is so much sweeter by knowing Giles will be rolling in bed all night replaying the points and moving them by millimeters.

jane Says:

i suspect it’ll be even worse for sienna. #ohwell :)

Jock-KatH Says:

I remain uncomfortable that FedExpress’s comment “Die Nole Die” has been allowed to remain on this thread. Can we not be civilised?

Hippy Chick Says:

KatH the moderation on this site is very poor, either that or they are selectively blind,or dont care and dont want to know,im begining to think it all depends on which player is been insulted and which posters are behind the insulting….

Okiegal Says:

@Jock-KatH

That won’t bother Tennis X one little bit. Remember back a week ago and RIP Rafa?? They’re cool with death comments, apparently…..I don’t understand letting stuff like this go unnoticed.

Congrats to all Novak fans and sympathies to Fed fans. I really thought Fed might win this, but not good enough today. Is there a new goat on the horizon?? This question for GOAT believers only!! Lol

Patson Says:

@KatH and HC

I wholeheartedly agree with you folks. Extremely distasteful comment. Tennis-x mods ?

And not ONE Fed fan called that poster out for it. I see others calling that fan out but no Fed fan. I can only assume there’s some “tolerance” amongst Fed fans for such comments as long as they’re directed towards Nole or somebody else. Hah! Disgusting.

Okiegal Says:

@Chick 3:44

I think you are totally correct with that comment!

alice Says:

patson, wogboy and all nice nole fans!
congrats on nole’s win today!!
was cheering him on like crazy….!
let’s hope that rafa can get his act together to challenge him again…

michael, madmax and all nice fed fans!
commiseration….your guy still had a great tourney and you should be proud.!

Patson Says:

@alice

Thank you very much! And I agree; for the sake of tennis, I want Nadal to climb up the rankings and get his butt back in the top 4. He has NO business being ranked 10. Can somebody kick his damn butt and get him motivated to be back up there with Roger and Andy ?

I want to see those epic battles between Nole and Rafa. There is a lot of unfinished business for both of these guys. I’ve always believed that your legacy is defined by your victories against the competitors you play against.

alice Says:

@patson

so well said!! i still watch matches where nole beat rafa because nevertheless the quality of the rivalry and the tennis they produced was incredible! i can’t think of another rivalry with quite the same level of intensity and tennis is so much poorer without it. many people have said it is their favourite rivalry of all time and i really miss those extraordinary battles.
no one has ever challenged rafa like nole and he is easily his greatest rival.
congrats again! hoarse with cheering him on!

alice Says:

patson

oh and one of the reasons that nole will go down as an all time great (and in my view he is one already) is his capacity to have taken on and beaten both rafa and fed. that is some achievement and when the history of tennis is written it is something which will be highlighted by all tennis historians.
bring back rafole!!!

Okiegal Says:

My fav Rafa, has a mighty tough hill to climb! I would love to see him claw his way back to the top….for me, tennis just isn’t the same…..sigh….I’m sounding whiney, but I can’t help it!!!!!

Vamos Rafa, get it together soon, paleeze!!!

Wog Boy Says:

@alice,
Thanks:)

Wog Boy Says:

@Oki,
Thanks

Jock-KatH Says:

Okiegal

Chin up – he’ll be back – he’ll win some 3-setters in time for a greatly improved ranking at the US Slam – he’s already No.8 in the race to London and there’s not many points between him and the two in front….and he doesn’t have many points to defend – so it’s all positive.

Okiegal Says:

@Jock…….I can only hope! I’m not gonna give up on him and will be positive!!

@Wog, you’re so welcome! Novak is so solid right now. I can’t see anything but trophies in his future! Where is this pic of you everyone is talking
about? Enlighten me…..I want to see it too! Have a great day……I’m going fishing…..

Wog Boy Says:

Oki, it is on the other thread, but to save your time going through 366 posts I’ll post it here. Me and Nole outside Sydney International Airport:

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img661/6923/Lw4inm.jpg

Wog Boy Says:

^^ actually it was on this thread, well it was long night and day and finally I can have my brandy and rewatching match, but I think I will fall asleep, almost 48 hours without sleep is catching up with me.

Margot Says:

@Wog Boy
I’m afraid TV is the most handsome man we’ve got here on tx….unless some brave soul can rise to the challenge…;)
Gr8 to see your pic tho. :)

Wog Boy Says:

Margot,

I am not in the competition for most handsome, I’ll live that to younger posters, I’ll give it a go with senior citizens in a few years time.
I noticed that TV is missing in action since Wimbledon final..

Hippy Chick Says:

Okie i agree its tough for Rafa ATM,and been a fan aint no picnic either, but im not giving up on him,and i dont hate Novak, but i must admit im human and do resent his success, and your absolutely right as much as i love tennis, its indeed hard to stay as interested when your favorite isnt a factor, and its hard work been on this forum when everyone else is jumping for joy except for you, sorry now im sounding whiny….

Margot Says:

Hippy, I’m sure most Andy, Rafa, Stan, Dimi and Fed fans are all feeling glum at the moment.
Tis the nature of being a fan.
But also tis the nature of fandom that we are all wildly, and probably foolishly, looking forward to the USOpen, when we are sure wildly, and probably foolishly, that our man will win.

calmdownplease Says:

`Murray couldn’t cope with Federers shot making, he was sublime and made murray look second class.`

Murray couldn’t cope with his serve only.
It was Novak that made Roger look `2nd class`
And old too.

Jock-KatH Says:

On the Tennisabides site there is an article “The Beloved Novak Djokovic” by nieighh — it is under The Adventures of Nicole Eclectic – an interesting read gathers together a lot of “whys” and “why nots”.

jane Says:

yeah, i read it too KatH. she writes nicely. i saw it first elsewhere but i guess dan saw fit to share it also.

Top story: Sinner, Medvedev Roll Into Miami Rematch; Alcaraz v Dimitrov, Women's SF Today
