During his win yesterday over Viktor Troicki, defending champion Stan Wawrinka found a good way to stay loose while the Serb was undergoing treatment for a hip injury. He decided to hit with the ball boy!

“First time I ever did that,” said Stan. “I was a little bit bored. I was waiting for him. Was talking to the ball kid.
“He wasn’t afraid to be on the central court. He was a nice kid. We had a little chat. I asked him if he played tennis, and I thought why don’t we go and hit a few balls. It was nice for him. It was fun for the audience, and it kept me busy.”
Wawrinka went on to take the match for his 11th straight French Open win and 8th on the tour. He’ll return Tuesday – if the weather allows – to face surprising Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
“Being in the quarter-finals again is great. Of course I don’t want to stop there, but I also want to enjoy what’s happening.”
