Uncle Toni: Rafael Nadal To Make Rio Olympics Decision Today
Rafael Nadal is already in Rio but questions linger about the former gold medallists’s participation. After practice yesterday, Nadal was seeing leaving the court with an ice pack on the injured left rest.
And later, Uncle Toni said a decision would be made on Tuesday on what events, if any, Nadal would play.
“His wrist is much better. We try to train normally. We played at a good level, with great intensity,” Uncle Toni told Marca via Google translation.
“We will wait until tomorrow to make a decision on whether to play all or not. Tomorrow we have to talk to (team captain) Conchita Martinez and Rafa. We’ll think it’s best for the team and then we’ll play. Sure let’s play something,” he said Monday.

Nadal hasn’t played since revealing his left wrist injury two months ago at the end of May. He won the gold medal in Beijing in 2008 beating Fernando Gonzalez.
