Daniil Medvedev revealed today that he will be off the tour for at least a month and maybe two due to fix a hernia issue which he’s been playing with for some time.

The “procedure” (likely surgery) will prevent the Russian from playing Monte Carlo and perhaps Madrid, with Rome and potentially the French even doubtful.

Medvedev posted on twitter, “Hi everyone. The last months I have been playing with a small hernia. Together with my team I have decided to have a small procedure done to fix the problem. I will likely be out for the next 1 – 2 months and will work hard to be back on court soon. Thanks for all the support.”

And he may have already had the procedure?

Medvedev has never played his best tennis on the clay, but he has been making progress. Medvedev just lost to Casper Ruud in the Miami quarterfinals, falling one win short of returning to No. 1.
