In an all-American affair, top seed Taylor Fritz eliminated Jack Sock 7-6(7-5), 6-4 in the second round at the Dallas Open.

The American No. 1 Fritz fired 10 aces, won 42/47 (89%) on first serves, and never dropped serve in the win, his fourth over Sock in six career tour-level meetings.

“I thought I played pretty well,” Fritz said. “He served well and when I got chances on his serve he played the points well, so it was pretty tight. I wasn’t really able to find that break, but I played well, I protected my serve well, and I’m pretty happy with the match.”

Elsewhere, Emilio Gomez, son of the former French champion, upended the 4th-seeded Miomir Kecmanovic in three sets 2-6, 7-6(7-4), 6-4. Fifth-seeded John Isner moved past Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 7-6(7-1). No. 7 seed Marcos Giron ousted Oscar Otte 6-4, 6-3. 8th-seeded Adrian Mannarino defeated Jordan Thompson in two sets 6-2, 7-6(7-3).
