Following a tough 2-set win over Barbora Strycova yesterday, Serena Williams was asked about all the upsets that have hit what has been a very unpredictable Australian Open. But she added, it was hard for her to watch them all because she can’t stay awake!

“Murray was very shocking,” Serena said. “I went to bed by the time the other match came on, because it was getting to be so late. Believe it or not, I’m still slightly jet lagged. I go to bed really early now.

“But it’s been a couple interesting weeks for Angie. You know, she’s been dealing with a lot. I think she was able to handle it the best she could.

“I think Coco played really well. I think she really just came up with a wonderful game plan, and it was an easy match so it wasn’t too surprising.”

Serena arrived in New Zealand over three weeks ago, so you would think she would be over jet lag. Then again, she is with fiancee Alexis Ohanian, so who knows.

Serena added that she met Ohanian by chance in Rome two years ago.

Serena takes on the red hot Johanna Konta tomorrow. The Brit has won her last eight matches without losing a set.
