Novak Djokovic Sets Record For Most Weeks At No. 1
It’s been a foregone conclusion for a while, but today, Novak Djokovic surpassed rival Roger Federer to become the record-holder for most weeks as ATP No. 1 with 311.
Djokovic first reached No. 1 on July 4, 2011 after his maiden Wimbledon title.
“Big day today,” Djokovic posted on twitter. “Chase your dreams. Thank you guys so much for this.”
His wife, Jelena, also congratulated Novak on the achievement. “311 weeks and counting. So proud of you amore! Heart suit @DjokerNole”
With the rankings semi-frozen still, Djokovic will stay in the top spot through the French Open.
