Shapovalov, Nishikori, Garin, Cilic Lead Way In Estoril
After getting shut down last year due to COVID, Estoril returns this week with a solid field including four players in the Top 40.
Still seeking a first clay final, Denis Shapovalov is the top seed followed by 5-time clay winner Cristian Garin, Ugo Humbert and former Top 5 Kei Nishikori.
Also in the field are former US Open champion Marin Cilic, 2-time Slam finalist Kevin Anderson, 2015 champion Richard Gasquet and new Spanish star Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Shapovalov is just 2-2 in his last two events. he lost last week to countryman Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round at Barcelona.
In the first round, Anderson will take on Frances Tiafoe and Gilles Simon meets countryman Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
In the 2019 edition, Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Pablo Cuevas for his first career clay title.
