Rublev, Ruud, Zverev Lead On Clay In Hamburg

A very solid field is in store at the ATP clay summer stop in Hamburg this week, led by German star Alexander Zverev and Bastad finalists Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud.

Italian youngster Lorenzo Musetti also returns hoping to defending his 2022 win over Carlos Alcaraz in the final.

Top seeds are 1 Casper Ruud, 2 Andrey Rublev, 3 Lorenzo Musetti, 4 Alexander Zverev, 5 Francisco Cerundolo, 6 Tomas Martin Etcheverry, 7 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and 8 Miomir Kecmanovic.

No. 1 Ruud is projected to meet 8 Kecmanovic in his quarter, No. 4 Zverev – 7 Davidovich Fokina, No. 6 Etcheverry – 3 Musetti, and 5 seed Cerundolo – 2 Rublev is slated in the bottom quarter.

The semifinals are projected to be Casper Ruud v Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev v Lorenzo Musetti.

The top seeded Ruud opens with Sebastian Baez then gets the winner of Hugo Dellien and Cristian Garin.

The second seeded Rublev opens with Bernabe Zapata Miralles then gets the winner of Daniel Altmaier-Richard Gasquet.

Defending champion Musetti will take on Elias Ymer in the opening round.
