DAY THREE PREVIEW
• World No. 1 Roger Federer bids for his eighth successive win over Andy Roddick, with his last victory coming in the 2006 US Open final. Roddick has won only one of the pair’s 12 previous meetings, at 2003 AMS Montreal.
• Federer’s win over David Nalbandian in his opening round-robin match avenged his defeat in the 2005 Tennis Masters Cup final. He also extended his perfect round-robin record at the Tennis Masters Cup to 13-0, and his current winning streak to 25 matches, his longest unbeaten streak of 2006.
• Roddick’s defeat of No. 4-ranked Ivan Ljubicic in his opening round robin match was his first victory against a Top 10 player this year. He had lost all four previous meetings against Top 10 opponents in 2006. Prior to this year’s Tennis Masters Cup, Roddick’s last Top 10 victory came against Lleyton Hewitt at Cincinnati in August 2005.
• For the second successive year, David Nalbandian will bid to bounce back from a defeat against Roger Federer in his opening round-robin match. He takes on Ivan Ljubicic in a repeat of last year’s final group match, which Nalbandian won to qualify for the semifinals.

Tournament History: Federer extended his unbeaten Tennis Masters Cup round-robin record to 13-0 after defeating defending champion David Nalbandian 36 61 61 in his opening match. He also defeated Nalbandian in his first round-robin match last year, before losing to the Argentine in the final.
