Roger Federer Makes His Fans Really, Really Happy at Mercedes-Benz Event [Video]
Roger Federer’s ranking might be slipping but his fan base appears to be growing more fanatical. During a visit this morning to a Mercedes-Benz sponsor event in Manhattan, Federer stopped to sign autographs and pose for pictures with a very excited group of supporters – free US Open tickets? Federer? Who wouldn’t be excited?
Federer’s appearance was part of Mercedes-Benz USA’s new “Tweet Rally” campaign in which the luxury car maker will give away a pair of US Open tickets every day at a specific location announced on their twitter account @mbusa.
“I’ll be giving away tickets to the US Open to help kick off the Tweet Rally to the 2011 US Open sponsored by Mercedes-Benz. We’ll have other prizes and fun things to do while we’re there, too. Get there early, though – the tickets will go fast! See you soon!” Federer wrote on Facebook this morning.
“In NYC..love the big apple. Very happy to be here as there is so much energy and excitement for the US Open…” he added.
Federer has been with Mercedes Benz since May of 2010. Here’s a look back at a Mercedes commercial he did for them at the end of last year.
The five-time champ Federer will be the No. 3 seed when the US Open draw is released tomorrow.
