After Winning His 7th Cincinnati Title, Roger Federer’s Daughter Told Him To Put A Hat On! [Video]
by Tom Gainey | August 23rd, 2015, 3:34 pm

After one of his best weeks as a pro, Roger Federer got chided by one of his daughter’s when the Swiss went to celebrate his 76, 63 win over Novak Djokovic with his family and friends in Cincinnati.

During the visit, one of Federer’s twin daughters – either Charlene Riva or Myla Rose – could be heard telling Roger, “Papa. Papa! You need a hat.”

How cute!

And Federer explained why he made the visit, “I just saw the girls and my wife and my coach and I just like, Well, it’s a short stroll. Let’s quickly go over there and high five and see everybody when it’s still, how do you say, still hot, you know, when it’s all happening. That was the reasoning, because the player box was very convenient.”

Federer won his 7th career Cincinnati title without losing a set or losing serve, beating main rivals Andy Murray and Djokovic this weekend.

The 34-year-old returns to No. 2 in the rankings as he heads to the US Open.

Okiegal Says:

His little girls are adorable! I want to see the boys too.Thought it was precious that they call him Papa. Here in the states it’s usually Daddy and Papa is reserved for the grandparent. They are so cute! I loved the fact that he went to his family for hugs and kisses!!

jalep Says:

Darling girls. Mirka looking Great.

Congrats to Roger Federer and his Fans!

Truly astonishing tennis at age 34.

Gregoire Gentil Says:

@Okiegal Papa is Daddy in French…

jane Says:

aww very sweet! :)

Markus Says:

How it must have felt! Winning another Masters 1000 against his main nemesis then being greeted by your twins. Congratulations, Roger.

And what’s with Djokovic and the Cincinnati and the FO? The more he hunts for them, the more elusive they seem to get.

Okiegal Says:

@Gregoire…..Thanks for the info! Don’t speaka da French! Lol
It just sounds different from what I’m used to…..He looks way too young to be called Papa…..

Daniel Says:

Wish we could see the boys as well. Nice!

Okiegal Says:

@Daniel….Me too! I guess they’re too little for the cameras just yet. I would like to see the Little Joker also…..

Michael Says:

Roger definitely doesn’t have the habit of visiting the stands after a victory to greet his team or family members. But this particular win had him doing something different that what he is used to as it seems that he was greatly elated after his victory over Novak. Why not ?

Those pretty cute daughters of Roger are lovely and the way one of them after a lip kiss fits Roger’s head with a cap was just sheer delight to watch !!

Roger is indeed gifted with a wonderful family !!

jalep Says:

Last May. But they don’t have too many pictures yet. The twin girls have lots of pictures.

Okiegal Says:

@Jalep……Thanks for the link…..I had missed the pix of them! They are just cute as buttons!! Can you imagine 2 sets of twins? My maternal grandmother was a twin, and there were 4 sets in her immediate family. On my paternal side there was a set of triplets and two sets of twins, but we’re still born. Twins happen every 3rd generation which would be my son’s, but he chose not to have kids…..probably because I told him there might be the chance for two!! Lol

Georgy Gal Says:

I think in UK too children used to say Papa. Maybe old English? Margot can clarify.

RZ Says:

@Jalep: the downside of not being the eldest child (or in this case children) – not as many baby pics! :-)

Silvia Schnur Says:

I was so happy for you about this terrific win and beautiful performance.I had been rooting for you and nothing could please me more than to see you in the stands with your adoring family.I too am anxious to see the boys ,they were born on the same day as my great grand daughter last may.

Liesel Says:

Papa actually means daddy in dutch, swiss german, german, flamish etc.

but since they are probably raised ( swiss ) german – english they speak a mix.

Catherine Says:

Myla is the one that puts the hat on. in a different video you can see the id card of Charlene looking in the camera while Myla puts the hat on.
