And big tournament will not be played this year due to the Coronavirus. Today, the Olympics made it officials cancelling the games which were to be held in late July in Tokyo. That also means no Olympic tennis this summer.

“In the present circumstances and based on the information provided by the WHO today, the IOC President and the Prime Minister of Japan have concluded that the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community,” a statement read.

Players like Roger Federer, Venus and Serena Williams were hopeful of playing their last Olympics this summer. Will they be able to play in 2021 is a question mark.

The 2021 schedule will also have to be adjusted to make room for the summer event.

Already, Miami, Madrid and Monte Carlo are among the other big events that have been cancelled this year. Wimbledon and the summer Masters are now in peril as the virus continues to spread.

Badly worded by staff. Caption stated TENNIS COMPETITION postponed until 2021, what was meant was only Olympic Tennis competition was postponed to 2021.
Though it is pretty obvious to all, that is still a bad caption to run.
