More lucky losers have made the Den Bosch semifinals than Top 5 seeds as upsets continued on Friday on quarterfinal day.

Finnish star Emil Ruusuvuori did the honors knocking out the 2nd-seeded Jannik Sinner in straights 6-3, 6-4.

Ruusuvuori was 0-5 against the Italian coming in, but on this day didn’t drop a point on first serve winning all 29!

“It was a great performance overall. He’s a hell of a player,” Ruusuvuori said to the ATP. “Before this I’m 0-5 against him head-to-head. It’s a difficult match always to go after him, but I just gave my everything and today I was playing very well and able to get the win, so I’m very happy.”

The 24-year-old also improves to 3-14 against Top 10 players as he makes his 7th career semifinal. Sinner is just 6-5 in his last 11 matches.

Ahead will be Dutch No. 1 Tallon Griekspoor who upended No. 4 seed Alex De Minaur 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Griekspoor, 26, hit 14 aces, tossed in four doubles and saved 13 of 14 break chances! Griekspoor moves into his 3rd career semifinal.

Also, Jordan Thompson put away Adrian Mannarino 5-7, 7-6(7-2), 6-2. He’ll now face countryman Rinky Hijikata who ousted Mackenzie McDonald also from a set behind 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.

Both Saturday semifinals are first time meetings.
