Hurkacz Top Seed At ATP Marseille, Sinner The Favorite?

Rising young stars Hubert Hurkacz and Jannik Sinner are the top two seeds at the ATP indoor event in Marseille.

Hurkacz seeded No. 1 for just the second time at an event after Antwerp last year while Sinner comes in off back-to-back finals in Montpellier (title) and Rotterdam (final).

The full list of seeds are: 1 Hubert Hurkacz, 2 Jannik Sinner, 3 Alex De Minaur, 4 Grigor Dimitrov, 5 Maxime Cressy, 6 David Goffin, 7 Richard Gasquet, 8 Marc Andrea Huesler.


Quarterfinal projections look like: Hurkacz – 6 Goffin, No. 4 Dimitrov – 8 Huesler, No. 5 Cressy – 3 De Minaur, and 7 seed Gasquet – 2 Sinner.

The semifinals could see Hubert Hurkacz-Grigor Dimitrov and Jannik Sinner-Alex De Minaur.

The top 4 seeds all get byes. Hurkacz will face the winner of Arthur Rinderknech and Leandro Riedi. The second seeded Sinner awaits the winner of French wildcard Arthur Fils and Roman Safiullin.

There are no former champions or even former finalists in the draw.

Last year, (2) Andrey Rublev defeated (3) Felix Auger Aliassime 7-5 7-6(4).
