2024 Cincinnati Masters Day 2: Opelka v Shelton, Fritz, Tiafoe On Court

The Cincinnati Masters officially began yesterday — with a big upset as Tommy Paul fell — but Tuesday marks the true opening day with women and a full slate of men’s matches scheduled.
Among the highlights are Americans Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe starting play in their final warm-up before the US Open.
Fritz takes on wildcard Brandon Nakashima while Tiafoe meets Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
In the match of the day, Reilly Opelka resumes his comeback against Ben Shelton. The towering Opelka hasn’t hit a ball at a Masters level event in two years due to a variety of injuries and ailments.
The women open play with former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu clashing with lucky loser Elina Avanesyan.
Former No. 1 Karolina Pliskova, Elina Svitolina, silver medalist Donna Vekic and Katie Boulter are also in action.
