2025 Australian Open Day 2: Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz, Kyrgios, Gauff

An absolutely loaded schedule is in store on the second day at the Australian Open.

Novak Djokovic opens play in the evening as he begins his quest for a 25th Slam and 11th Australian Open title. The Serb meets 19-year-old American Nishesh Basavareddy.

New rivals Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are also part of this blockbuster schedule. Sinner begins his first Slam title defense against the dangerous Chilean Nicolas Jarry. Alcaraz is on in the evening to take on Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko.


Also in the evening, Nick Kyrgios makes his return to Slam tennis to meet Brit Jacob Fearnley.

Americans Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul and Sebastian Korda are also in action plus Grigor Dimitrov and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

For the women, the red hot Coco Gauff opens against Sofia Kenin who beat the young star in Melbourne years ago. Iga Swiatek is on MCA and 2-time winner Naomi Osaka takes on Caroline Garcia for a second straight year.

Danielle Collins, Victoria Azarenka, Jelena Ostapenko and Jessica Pegula are also featured.
