Nadal, 4 Other Top 10 Players at ATP Rotterdam
Posted on February 16, 2008World No. 2 Rafael Nadal, Nikolay Davydenko, David Ferrer, Mikhail Youzhny and Tomas Berdych are Top 10 players entered next week at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.
Also seeded are Brit Andy Murray, former No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero and Cyprus' Marcos Baghdatis.
Nadal's draw is anything but easy with an opener against Russian Dmitry Tursunov, and former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt lurking in the second round. The Spaniard would then likely face either the seeded Baghdatis or hard-hitting Swede Robin Soderling, who has mocked Nadal's ass-tugging ritual in past meetings.
Other opening-round matches of interest are (4) Youzhny vs. Serb Janko Tipsarevic who stretched world No. 1 Roger Federer to five sets at the Australian Open, (5) Berdych vs. Ivan Ljubicic, and tall vs. small in Ivo Karlovic vs. Olivier Rochus.
Novak Djokovic withdrew from the event citing a stomach virus.
Last year Youzhny stole the title as an unseeded player, upsetting Ljubicic for the championship.
